Jobber Free Trial:
14 Days to Find Out if It's Right for Your Business

I've deployed Jobber in real trade operations. It's the easiest field service software to get up and running — most teams are live on day one. This guide tells you exactly what to test in the free trial so you don't waste two weeks on the wrong software.

Is Jobber the right fit?

Jobber is excellent — for the right operation. Know before you trial.

Start the trial if…

  • 1–20 technician operations in any home service trade
  • Businesses currently managing jobs on spreadsheets or WhatsApp
  • Teams that need quoting, scheduling and invoicing in one app
  • Contractors who want to be live within a day, not 3 months
  • Anyone who needs a clean mobile app techs will actually use

Consider alternatives if…

  • 20+ tech operations needing enterprise dispatch boards
  • Companies requiring built-in flat-rate pricebooks (use Housecall Pro)
  • Businesses needing advanced maintenance agreement tracking
  • Teams that need Marketing Pro with automated campaign ROI tracking

20+ techs? See ServiceTitan demo instead.

What to test in your 14 days

Most people waste the free trial clicking around randomly. Use this checklist to get a real verdict.

1
Schedule a job on mobile — does it take under 60 seconds?Priority
2
Build a quote on your phone in the field (not on desktop)Priority
3
Send an invoice and test online payment collectionPriority
4
Set up one recurring job or maintenance visitPriority
5
Test client notification SMS — does it look professional?
6
Connect QuickBooks or your accounting software
7
Check GPS tracking if you run multiple crews
8
Try the client hub — what your customer sees

Bernard's tip: test on a real job, not a fake one

In week one, take a real incoming job request and process it entirely in Jobber — quote, schedule, dispatch, invoice, collect payment. If that full cycle feels natural, you have your answer. If you're fighting the UI on any step, that friction will multiply when your team uses it every day.

Bernard's verdict

Jobber is the software I recommend first to any contractor under 20 techs. The setup is genuinely fast — I've seen teams go from nothing to their first invoiced job in under two hours. The mobile app passes my fat-finger test: buttons are big enough for dirty hands, the quote flow is logical, and techs don't need training videos. Where it falls short is flat-rate pricebooks and complex maintenance agreements — if those are central to your business model, start with Housecall Pro. But for the majority of small trade businesses, Jobber is the right call at the right price.

4.5/5 — Best-in-class for 1–20 tech operations

Frequently asked questions

Is the Jobber free trial really free?
Yes — 14 days, no credit card required. Full access to Core plan features. After 14 days you choose a plan or stop. No automatic charge.
How much does Jobber cost after the trial?
Starting at $49/month (Core, 1 user). The Connect plan for growing teams is $129/month. Annual billing saves ~25%. All plans include unlimited clients and jobs.
What size company is Jobber best for?
1–20 technicians in home service trades: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, cleaning, and more. Above 20 techs with complex dispatch needs, consider ServiceTitan.
Does Jobber work offline?
Basic job info is cached locally, but most functions need connectivity. If your techs frequently work in low-signal areas, test this specifically during your trial.
Jobber vs ServiceTitan — which should I choose?
Under $3M annual revenue and fewer than 20 techs: Jobber. Over $3M with complex dispatch, flat-rate pricebooks and marketing ROI needs: ServiceTitan. The price difference alone — $49/mo vs $398+/mo — makes the decision obvious at the small end.
